Begin with the player’s current information and the question that needs answering. A Professional-Style Player Scouting Report or an appropriate live Player Evaluation may help establish the starting point. Practice video and game performance answer different questions; school research should reflect what is known and what still needs to be seen.

Identify which materials are ready, what is missing, and which schools or playing levels deserve further research. Consider the player’s baseball, academic, and personal priorities.
